Seele Monument Shop was founded in Rockfield, Indiana in 1987 by Guy "Dave" Seele. Dave was a veteran, ironworker, avid artist, and passionate business owner.
In 2019 Dave passed the business to his son Jim Seele to continue his legacy.
In July 2025, the business was acquired by Rachel & Mark Minnicus. The name Seele Monument Shop was changed to Minnicus Seele Monument in August of 2026 to better reflect ownership and personal pride in this business.

Mark and Rachel met back in 2012, and after an unforgettably cold and rainy first date on Purdue's campus, they were captivated by each other.
Mark has an associate's in applied science in Farm Management from Muscatine Community College.
Rachel has an associate's in applied science in Agriculture from Ivy Tech Community College and a Bachelor of Science in OLS from Purdue University.
Mark keeps busy these days running a wean to finish hog operation, helping on the farm, and running Mark Minnicus Excavating, LCC. He also helps Rachel over at the shop.
Rachel was a stay-at-home mom beginning in 2017. She had many wonderful years raising their 2 children but wanted to keep busy when they went off to school. So, Rachel acquired Jones' Rocks back in 2023. Rachel's Rocks is still operational, just under Minnicus Seele Monument. In 2025 Jim Seele contacted Mark and Rachel about purchasing Seele Monument Shop as he was ready to retire from the business. It felt like a whirlwind of fast events, but Mark and Rachel took the leap and decided to purchase the business in July 2025.
Mark and Rachel have been incredibly thankful for all of the learning experiences this business has brought them, the wonderful customers who have entrusted them with their monument design and purchases, and the peer support that has come through in various forms in this industry.
